Driver Side Door Not Opening From Inside

Hi i have a nissan micra 04 plate.
Driver side door not opening from inside. This is not the same as deadlock. What could be wrong and ho read more. If the cable or rod that connects the door handle to the latch assembly is damaged or has come loose the door will not open. Let me share with all of you what happened to me.
Slide the door panel up to clear the window opening and door lock button and remove it. Damaged handle cable or rod. After determining that i could not get the inside panel pulled back far enough to get my hand in to try and release the latch i had to cut the inside door panel in half to get access to the lock. This can be opened from the outside just not inside.
If it is engaged the door will not open from the inside by design. Finally when the issue is not with the lock system move onto check the next obvious possibility for the car door to not open from inside or outside a damaged door. There will either be a screw in the center of the handle or a retaining clip on the back side of the handle. Unplug any power window switches and courtesy lights.
I hope it s not an electric control handle but it sounds like a rod or lever inside the door has disconnected plastic clip holds rod in mechanisms and or levers that operate the door you ll have to remove the inside door panel to check this out or take it to a body shop they may have experience this problem before also some debris may have jammed mechanism another thought is the. This is usually only on one side either the inside handle won t open the door or the outside handle won t open the door but the other one will work fine. I had the drivers door lock and could not open it from either side. Roll the window down and carefully push the door panel away at the top right above the latch rear of door then look down inside the door at the latch and figure out which rod fell of the latch.
